Prices

How much does a certified translation cost?

Cost of a certified translation: prices, factors and a fixed-price quote within 30 minutes – transparent and with no hidden costs.

The honest answer: it depends on your document – and that is exactly why we do not give you an estimate, but a binding fixed price within 30 minutes. So before you order, you know to the last centime what your certified translation will cost.

How the price is made up

For standard certificates – such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, driving licences, diplomas or criminal record extracts – we work with fair flat rates. You benefit from the fact that we translate such documents every day: well-rehearsed processes, verified templates, one clear price per certificate.

For longer documents – contracts, judgments, expert reports or company records – we charge by line or word rate. That way you pay precisely for the actual length of your document, not for blanket assumptions – and the quote sets out the calculation transparently.

Four factors determine the price:

  • Language combination: Common combinations are cheaper than rare languages for which only a few qualified translators are available.
  • Length and complexity: Number of lines or words, how specialised the content is and the effort required to reproduce the layout.
  • Type of certification: Simple certified translation, notarised translation or apostille – depending on what your receiving authority requires. We advise you on which variant you really need, so that you do not pay more than necessary.
  • Delivery date: Standard delivery or express in 12–24 hours – on request the same day as a legally valid PDF with a qualified electronic signature.

FAQ

Why does UniTranslate not publish fixed list prices?

Because no two documents are alike. Language combination, length, type of certification and delivery date all influence the price. Instead of a vague price list, you receive a binding quote with a fixed price within 30 minutes – the amount you actually pay in the end.

How quickly will I receive a quote for my certified translation?

Within 30 minutes during office hours. Simply upload a scan or a clearly legible photo of your document via our online form or send it by e-mail – the quote is free and non-binding.

Is the quoted price really the final price?

Yes. Our quote is a binding fixed price including certification and delivery within Switzerland. There are no hidden costs – additional charges apply only if you order extra services afterwards.

Which type of certification is right for my translation?

We prepare certified translations for authorities, courts and universities; the respective receiving authority makes the binding decision on form and recognition. Tell us where you are submitting the translation – we will recommend the appropriate type of certification, whether office certification, notarised translation or apostille.
