What is natural language processing and how is it related to translation?
Natural language Processing deals with creating an environment in virtual world that can assign meanings to human language, thus capable of analyzing texts or human voice. Primarily, it engages itself into study of Syntax and Semantics. It uses statistical methods and axioms in order to derive so called scientific principles for further investigation.
We are interested in Natural Language Processing since it is the field that allows us to understand how human language works and what really all languages in the world have in common. This universality principle, which is the foundation of any scientific discipline, is not easily applicable to investigation of human languages compared to other scientific disciplines. Nevertheless, scientists strive to find those universals and we at UniTranslate strive to learn them to serve you as good as we can. We already use modern language processing tools like GATE to analyze texts and visualize their content in seconds. Those tools allow us to save costs while increasing our quality. Those tools are available in many languages. This allows us to compare translated text with the original text and to see if the machine understands the same from them and if not why not.
Furthermore, we make a statistical analysis of the underlying text in original language and in target language. Because in that way, we can find out if the unity of the text is transferred to the target language correctly.
At UniTranslate, we invest and work hard in order to transfer the latest technologies into our company to serve you better than yesterday.
